Job summary

Honeywell is accelerating its transformation to autonomous operations. We seek a Lead Data Engineer to architect data foundations enabling physical AI at scale, from IoT telemetry through lakehouse to GenAI pipelines. You will anchor a team of engineers, shape architecture, and deliver AI-ready data products across Honeywell's global operations.

You will report to the Sr. Data Engineering Manager and work from Atlanta, GA on a Hybrid schedule, with initial 90 days onsite.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Hands-on experience building medallion lakehouse architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Deep expertise with Apache Spark / PySpark at scale on Azure Databricks.
• Strong proficiency with streaming platforms (Kafka / Azure Event Hub).
• Cloud data architecture skills (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP a plus).
• Data modeling and schema design for transactional/analytical workloads.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data pipelines processing terabytes of IoT telemetry on Azure Databricks.
• Design real-time ingestion pipelines from Azure Event Hub and Kafka with high throughput.
• Build fault-tolerant streaming architectures with schema evolution and latency SLAs.
• Lead architecture reviews and set engineering standards for data products.
• Define direction for AI-ready data products including vector stores and embeddings.
