Job summary
United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to shape and evolve our cloud data platform and AI strategy. This remote (U.S.) role combines technical leadership with mentoring a growing data engineering team and setting engineering standards across ingestion, governance, and AI-ready data products.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred, with 8+ years in data engineering or analytics roles.
- Experience leading data platform initiatives and engineering teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional groups.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Data Engineering team and establish engineering standards.
- Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, Spark, and Databricks.
- Define best practices for Databricks development, workflows, and deployment automation.
- Lead adoption of modern Databricks capabilities (Genie, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow).
- Mentor engineers and partner with BI, Product, Platform Engineering, Security, and MLOps teams.
