Base pay range

$135,000.00/yr - $195,000.00/yr

Are you an expert in building scalable data platforms, optimising data pipelines, and unlocking the full potential of modern cloud technologies? Aventis is working alongside an innovative organisation dedicated to leveraging data to drive growth, operational efficiency, and cutting-edge solutions.

We’re searching for a Lead Data Engineer & a Data Platform Architect (Data Architect for Databricks) who can design, implement, and manage high-performing data platforms. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the data infrastructure and enabling advanced analytics capabilities.

• Salary: $135,000 - $195,000 + performance bonus
• Location: Remote-based + tech hub in Dallas, Texas (very flexible working arrangements)
• Future Outlook: Be at the forefront of shaping the company’s data engineering roadmap. Work on large-scale data projects with opportunities to specialise further in architecture, data science or leadership roles. Plus, genuine autonomy to select new data and AI technologies in the future.

Key Skills, Attributes, and Experience Desired:

• Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure. They use Azure for this project with some AWS in other areas.
• Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with modern data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar.
• Programming Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL and/or Python.
• Data Pipelines: Proven ability to build, optimise, and scale ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, or dbt.
• CI/CD & DevOps: As above with a focus on Azure DevOps, or experience with GitLab or GitHub Actions or similar.
• Data Modelling: Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling principles.
• Collaboration: Exceptional teamwork and communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Innovative Thinking: A forward-looking mindset, always seeking to push the boundaries of what’s possible in data engineering.
• Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading other engineers is highly desirable. Management experience isn’t required as this is a Tech Lead role, and therefore leading from the front.

Role Overview:

As Lead Data Engineer and/or Data Platform Architect, you will own the design, development, and optimisation of our data infrastructure. You’ll work closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data is available, reliable, and scalable for advanced analytics and business intelligence.

We are looking for either a senior wanting a step up to prove themselves as a lead, or existing lead engineers. Although, we do need 2x senior engineers too!
