Job description

Lead Data Engineer - NIKE, Inc., Atlanta, GA

Design and implement data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners using Agile / Scrum methodology. Contribute to architecture, frameworks, and patterns for processing and storing large data volumes. Evaluate and utilize new technologies/tools/frameworks centered around high-volume data processing. Drive new data projects and optimize existing solutions. Translate product backlog items into engineering designs and logical units of work. Profile and analyze data to design scalable solutions. Define and apply data acquisition and consumption strategies for various technical scenarios. Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines using prevalent tools and languages in the big data ecosystem. Build utilities, user-defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to enhance data flow patterns. Implement complex automated routines with workflow orchestration tools. Conduct collaborative reviews of designs, code, and test plans. Work with architecture and engineering leads to ensure quality solutions and adherence to standards. Address data management issues to improve data quality. Develop automated unit tests and participate in integration testing. Utilize and enhance continuous integration and deployment frameworks. Resolve complex data issues and perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with product teams and across teams to resolve operational and performance issues. Provide work estimates, report progress, and communicate challenges. Identify and remove technical bottlenecks for your engineering squad. Offer leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other data engineers. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except SD, VT, and WV.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in data engineering or related roles.
