Job summary

Trane Technologies in the United States is seeking a Thermal Systems Lead Engineer, Electrical & Power, to drive the design and validation of integrated electrical and cooling reference designs for data centers. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of electrical engineering experience, with focus on data centers.
• Experience with data center power standards and high-voltage DC.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of electrical and power systems into data center reference designs.
• Design end-to-end electrical power systems from switchgear to IT rack level.
• Provide expertise on power distribution, UPS, PDUs, and power monitoring to maximize uptime.
• Ensure interoperability of racks, power distribution, and cooling components.
• Address integration challenges including power transients and arc flash risks.
• Develop partnerships with electrical gear manufacturers for interoperability.
• Drive proof-of-concept projects for 800VDC power architectures.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to optimize data center Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).
• Coach junior engineers and cross-functional team members.
• Stay current with data center power trends and standards.
