Next Level Technician in Manassas, VA seeks a Lead Data Center Technician to supervise field crews and ensure safe, high-quality installations of Cat6 and fiber. You will read diagrams, manage tasks, and guide hands-on technicians on site.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise onsite teams of 5-10 data center technicians, ensuring quality workmanship and safety.
• Manage daily project tasks to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Install Cat6 network cabling and pre-terminated fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
• Work with LC and MPO fiber connectors for high-performance connectivity.
• Dress and organize cables using proper wire management techniques, including cable trays and ladder racks.
• Rack and stack network switches, servers, and other data center hardware.
• Accurately label all cables and components to maintain documentation and organization.
• Read and interpret data center layouts, network diagrams, and technical blueprints.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards for quality, reliability, and safety.

Lead Data Center Technician – Structured Cabling & Fiber Installation | Manassas, VA and Greater Northern Virginia Area

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct onsite teams of 5-10 data center technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety standards
• Manage daily project tasks to meet deadlines and stay within budget
• Install Cat6 network cabling and pre-terminated fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) in data center environments
• Work with both LC and MPO fiber connectors for high-performance connectivity
• Dress and organize cables using proper wire management techniques, including cable trays and ladder racks
• Rack and stack network switches, servers, and other data center hardware
• Accurately label all cables and components to maintain meticulous documentation and organization
• Read and interpret data center layouts, network diagrams, and technical blueprints

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working in data centers
• Proven experience leading crews or supervising data center installation teams
• Proven experience with Cat6 and fiber optic cabling installation (pre-terminated preferred)
• Familiarity with LC and MPO connectors
• Working knowledge of telecom and data network infrastructure
• Comfortable working as a Lead while also jumping in and performing hands-on work when needed
• BICSI, OSHA, Lift, and manufacturer certifications are a plus
• Must have basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Willingness to travel to job sites within Manassas, VA as needed
