Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a Senior Data Center Estimator to lead large-scale data center and mission-critical estimates. You will collaborate with Preconstruction, Engineering, VDC, and Operations to develop competitive pricing, drive value-engineering, and support strategic pursuits in a hybrid work environment.

You will mentor junior estimators, maintain cost databases, and stay current on market rates for labor and materials across HVac and piping systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
• 5+ years estimating data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, chilled water, condenser water, hydronic piping, and related systems.
• Experience estimating hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical facilities.
• GMP development and design-build/design-assist estimating experience.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, contracts and technical docs.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed mechanical estimates for large-scale data center projects.
• Manage estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through final proposal submission.
• Develop estimates for conceptual, design-build, design-assist, GMP, negotiated, and hard-bid opportunities.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related systems.
• Analyze drawings and documents to establish scope and pricing strategy.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subs, and vendor pricing.
