Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer to drive controls integration across multiple Midwest and national sites. You will lead on-site BMS/EPMS/ICS implementations, ensuring sensors, controllers, and networks align with design intent to deliver reliable, scalable data centers.

You will collaborate with facilities teams to translate complex automation into actionable field guidance, while maintaining compliance with electrical codes and Google standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience as a program manager or technical program manager.
• 5 years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or systems integration in industrial environments.
• 5 years in BMS/EPMS architectures, including DDC, PLC, virtual machines, and SCADA; with BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time to provide on-site support across project locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide design development oversight and ensure owner’s requirements are met.
• Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify installation and readings.
• Resolve design vs field discrepancies to prevent delays and ensure hardware matches logic.
• Ensure installations meet local codes, cybersecurity standards, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve sequence issues during construction.
