Job summary

Google is seeking a Controls/Systems Engineer to lead the on-site automation efforts for our data centers. You will act as the primary technical authority for BMS, EPMS and ICS integrations, ensuring sensors, controllers and networks meet the design intent for reliable operations.

You will coordinate with electrical, mechanical and IT teams, translate complex automation into field instructions, and ensure compliance with local codes and Google standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience as a program manager or technical program manager.
• 5 years in controls engineering, automation, or systems integration in industrial/mission-critical settings.
• 5 years in BMS/EPMS architectures (DDC, PLC, SCADA) with BACnet/Modbus/SNMP.
• Ability to travel 50% to provide on-site support across locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide design development oversight and resolve ambiguities in sequences and topology for integrations.
• Conduct periodic site walk-throughs to verify hardware placement and readings.
• Resolve design vs. field discrepancies to prevent delays and ensure correct logic.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, cybersecurity standards, and project specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues during construction.
