Job summary

Google is seeking a Controls or Systems Engineer to lead on-site automation for data center projects. You will ensure integration of mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems, act as the primary technical authority during construction, and guide vendors and contractors to a flawless implementation.

You will drive improvements, maintain compliance with codes and security standards, and support global data center initiatives with engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years as a program manager or technical program manager.
  • 5 years in controls engineering, automation, or systems integration.
  • 5 years in BMS/EPMS with DDC/PLC/SCADA and BACnet/Modbus/SNMP.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for on-site support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design development oversight and resolve ambiguities in sequence of operations and network topology.
  • Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify installation and readings.
  • Resolve discrepancies between design intent and field conditions to prevent delays.
  • Ensure installations meet local codes, cybersecurity standards, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve sequence issues during construction.
