Job summary

The Maricopa County Community College District seeks a senior data architecture leader to define and drive the district's enterprise data architecture roadmap. You will guide cloud-native data platforms on AWS, set standards for data modeling, security, and governance, and partner across IT and academic units to align technology with institutional priorities.

You will supervise a team of data architects and engineers, manage performance, and ensure delivery of scalable, reliable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and seven years of progressively responsible experience in data architecture, data engineering, data platform design, or enterprise data management.
• Experience designing cloud-based data platforms in AWS, and leading projects or mentoring staff.
• Certification in enterprise architecture frameworks and AWS certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap aligned with priorities and strategy.
• Design scalable, secure architecture patterns for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and integration.
• Guide decisions for cloud-based data platforms, data warehouses, and AWS-native tools.
• Lead a team of data architects and engineers, set priorities, and support professional development.
• Translate business needs into architecture solutions and engage stakeholders clearly.
