Job summary

Indigo IT is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer in Ashburn, VA to focus on vulnerability management, configuration compliance for Windows and MacOS endpoints, and RMF continuous monitoring. You will support audit-ready security activities, develop procedures, and generate auditable evidence to strengthen the organization’s information assurance posture.

The role requires advanced knowledge of RMF, SA&A, and IV&V testing, with leadership experience and strong communication to advise senior

Qualifications

• Current CBP Background Investigation or Top-Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years (preferred).
• At least 5 years hands-on experience across network, hardware, software, and platform security.
• Experience performing compliance testing and remediation planning.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity/CS/IT; alternative 10 years’ related experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• One or more certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CISA KEV list experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support RMF across all facets with emphasis on Continuous Monitoring.
• Lead Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) activities as required.
• Perform conformance testing against baselines and specifications.
• Create auditable evidence of security measures and reports for leadership.
• Coordinate with team members to align inspections, tests, and reviews.
• Assist IV&V testing for software and systems and monitor testing activities.
• Advise leadership on actions affecting information assurance posture.
• Use RMF tools to monitor and analyze security posture in real time.
• Develop and maintain system information assurance reporting data.
