Job summary

VMD Corp. seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to deliver security leadership across multiple IT projects and initiatives.

You will support the assessment and authorization (A&A) process, determine current security postures, track vulnerabilities and POA&Ms, and identify potential cybersecurity risk. You will lead meetings, perform risk assessments, and craft actionable remediation plans while reporting to executives and ensuring defensible compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity and compliance experience.
• Active CISSP or CISM certification.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Secret clearance to start.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in reviews to assess system compliance with federal guidelines.
• Perform risk assessments based on NIST and industry best practices.
• Identify vulnerabilities and provide remediation recommendations to reduce risk.
• Create and mature RMF control documentation aligned with NIST requirements.
• Report cybersecurity risk and compliance to executives and senior leaders.
• Develop and track POA&Ms with system owners and technical teams for timely closure.
