Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, TX seeks a Lead Custodian to oversee daily custodial operations, supervise a custodial team, and coordinate with the Facilities Services department. The role focuses on high standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficient building maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, several years of custodial experience, and the ability to read/write English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak Basic English and Spanish.
• Ability to receive, comprehend and carry out written and oral communications.
• Ability to work effectively with school administrators, students, staff, contractors, vendors and community.
• Physically capable of custodial tasks (mopping, buffing, lifting up to 50 lbs.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee custodial management and communicate with foreman and supervisor.
• Perform general cleaning: stripping floors, buffing, sweeping, dusting and scrubbing; clean walls, restrooms and surfaces.
• Move and rearrange furniture; replenish supplies and assist with waste prevention.
• Ensure building is secured and equipment is used safely.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
