Job summary

South Mountain Elementary School in the Northern York County School District is seeking a Head Custodian. The role offers a 2026-27 salary range starting at $17.85 per hour. You will oversee custodial staff, ensure clean, safe, and secure facilities, and uphold district policies while supporting educational operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant clearances and TB testing. This is a full-time on-site role at South Mountain Elementary School.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 3 months related experience and/or training required.
• PA Act 34, Child Abuse-Act 151, and FBI Fingerprint-Act 114 clearances must be provided on hire and updated every five years.
• TB test must be negative on hire.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance: perform minor repairs in routine operation of the facilities.
• Daily custodial cleaning of facilities as assigned and supervision of custodians.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies and equipment for daily cleaning.
• Move materials between facilities as required and perform routine custodial duties as needed.
• Attend meetings and adhere to Custodial Department requirements.
