Job summary

R-S Central High School in Rutherfordton, NC is seeking a Lead Custodian/Bus Driver to join the facilities team. This full-time role includes cleaning, maintenance tasks, and operating the school bus per safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
• Some skill in the use of small equipment used in the routine cleaning.
• Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Must be 21+, HS diploma or GED, valid Class A/B with P/S endorsements; pass background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and dusting.
• Assist in moving furniture and washing surfaces as needed.
• Replenish tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms and kitchens.
• Empties waste baskets and other trash receptacles; locks/unlocks doors.
• Sorts/stores materials for recycling; report damages or repairs.
• Assist in controlling heating and air equipment at the location.
