Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) years of recent and verifiable custodial building cleaning, floor maintenance, and supervisory experience
- A valid Florida driver's license
- Must be forklift certified within one year of employment
Working Hours:
Normal working hours are 3:30PM to 12:00AM, Monday through Friday, however various shifts and locations may be assigned based on the needs of the College. Candidates must be able to report for additional hours, weekends, evenings, and/or holidays as needed and/or required.
- Supervises and evaluates all night shift employees.
- Performs building inspections, trains new employees with DSC equipment and cleaning standards.
- Performs building inspections, campus visits, trains new employees with DSC equipment and building cleaning standards.
- Cleans/sanitizes and germicides all restrooms, drinking fountains, doorknobs, door handles, railings, and telephones.
- Cleans/sanitizes glass, chrome and exits on all college facilities as designated, including but not limited to Residence Hall, classrooms, labs, offices, theatres, lecture rooms, conference rooms, gymnasium, amphitheaters, etc.
- Damp and wet mops vinyl and tile floors. Vacuums floors and carpets.
- Performs floor maintenance such as vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, and waxing, buffing, etc., in assigned areas as directed.
- Maintain and safeguard all inventory of college property (i.e., equipment, tools, supplies, custodial closets etc.).
- Support a clean and safe work environment, in keeping with the college policy and procedures.
- Drives college vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/ return supplies, equipment, tools, etc.
- Attends weekly departmental meetings to discuss weekly plans, event set-up, safety, training, etc.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.
- Requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting all the time, exerting at least 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis.
- Be comfortable with exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- Be able to follow oral and/or written communications.
- Have computer knowledge to be able to clock in/out and view other personnel related information (i.e., paycheck, W-2, etc.).
