Job summary

Gloucester Township Public Schools seeks a Head Custodian I for Ann A. Mullen Middle School in Gloucester Township, NJ. This full-time role requires knowledge of housekeeping, custodial equipment, and the ability to operate cleaning systems safely.

The position reports to the Custodial Supervisor and Principal with a 12-month term and a negotiated GTSPA salary. The right candidate will supervise custodial staff, perform routine site inspections, coordinate repairs, and ensure a clean, safe

Qualifications

Specific knowledge of housekeeping and custodial equipment, materials and methods.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position.
Any physical disability which would cause the candidate to be a hazard to themselves or to others is considered disqualifying.

Responsibilities

Oversees and performs work required to maintain the building and grounds safe, sanitary and in an orderly condition.
Directs, oversees and guides the work of their assigned custodians, including substitute personnel.
Orders custodial supplies and controls use and storage of consumable supplies and materials.
Maintains tools and equipment in the building, which are to be kept clean and in serviceable condition.
Maintains records and provides reports.
