Job summary

Andover Public Schools is seeking a Lead Custodian to plan and coordinate all building-level custodial operations and supervise staff. The role emphasizes directing custodial personnel, maintaining facilities, and ensuring safety standards across the site.

You will lead inspections, handle equipment needs, and participate in evaluations and discipline as part of the custodial team within the district's maintenance program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 1 year custodial experience.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
• Valid Kansas State Driver's License.
• Meet district grooming, safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Directs, assigns and inspects work of Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
• Trains Custodians.
• Reviews and corrects Veritime entries/time recorded for Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
• Resolves worker's problems or refers them on to Custodial Manager.
• Responsible for annual evaluations and disciplinary actions of Custodial Personnel assigned to the building.
• Submits requests for repair of buildings and equipment.
• Submits supply requests and verifies delivery of request for the building Custodial Personnel.
• Ensures that the building is secured.
• Stays alert to and reports emergency situations and responds to emergency cleanup instances throughout building.
