Job summary

The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Lead Custodian to be assigned to Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. This 1.0 FTE classified position leads custodial staff, plans daily work, and upholds safety standards across campus facilities.

You will train staff, supervise cleaning operations, maintain floors and restrooms, and respond to emergencies while supporting events and ensuring buildings are secured after hours.

Qualifications

• Three years custodial experience including minor building and equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift Operator certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, train, and review the work of staff responsible for custodial tasks during shifts.
• Train staff in custodial methods, procedures, and safety.
• Supervise use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machines.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Oversee event setup and room preparation for activities.
• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, and surfaces; manage waste and recycling.
• Lock/unlock buildings and monitor security after hours.
• Respond to maintenance or cleaning emergencies as needed.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs.
