The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking to fill a Lead Custodian to be assigned to work at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. Under direction, lead, oversee, and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities during an assigned shift; oversee and coordinate assignments for assigned staff; and set up and remove tables, chairs, and equipment for meeting and special events.
Any combination of the following would provide a typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities.
Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
Three years custodial experience that includes minor building and equipment maintenance.
Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, Forklift Operator certification.
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
40 hours/week, Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., hours may vary depending on department needs, occasional evenings and weekends required as needed, 12 months/year.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to perform moderately strenuous manual labor; to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate specialized hand and power tools and equipment; operate assigned equipment; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
