Job summary

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Lead Refresh Custodial Worker (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm) in the Campus Support Services department to begin immediately.

The successful candidate will lead, train, and direct assigned staff, perform daily cleaning across residence halls, offices, and common areas, and assist with events and basic maintenance while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Good PC skills with Word, Excel and web-based applications.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and lift up to 40 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED and PA driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and direct assigned custodial staff and daily cleaning duties.
• Perform daily refresh/detail cleaning of restrooms, common areas, conference and meeting rooms, hallways and offices.
• Operate light floor machines and attachments (vacuum, buffers, carpet extractors).
• Perform basic maintenance tasks (change light bulbs, plunge toilets).
• Assist with event setups and seasonal grounds maintenance; remove and transport garbage and recyclables.

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Lead Refresh Custodial Worker (Monday through
Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm) in the Campus Support Services department to begin immediately. Position offers competitive starting hourly rate and generous benefits package, including employee and dependent tuition remission.

The successful candidate must have good PC skills, strong attention to detail, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently and is responsible for daily refresh/detail cleaning of restrooms, common areas, conference and meeting rooms, hallways and offices areas in such buildings as residence halls, athletic areas, administrative and academic buildings. The Lead Refresh Custodial Worker will lead, train, and provide daily direction to assigned staff. They will assign, monitor, & assist with daily cleaning duties. Provide cleaning and sanitation services in addition to the use of light floor machines and attachments (e.g., vacuums, floor buffers, carpet extractors, etc.), perform general maintenance work (e.g., replace light bulbs, plunge toilets, etc.), assist with event set-ups and seasonal grounds maintenance as well as removal and transportation of garbage and recyclables from throughout campus.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid PA driver's license are required. The ideal candidate is required to have proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks, the ability to lift 40 lbs. and the ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web-based applications) strongly preferred.
