Job summary

Wilkes University is hiring overnight shift Custodians to support Campus Support Services. The role runs Monday through Friday, 10pm–6:30am, beginning immediately, with a competitive starting hourly rate and benefits including tuition remission for employees and dependents.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, classrooms, hallways and offices across campus facilities, using floor machines, performing light maintenance, assisting with event setups, and handling waste removal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Proficient in basic computer use (Word/Excel) is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position.
• Valid PA driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

Wilkes University invites applicants for overnight shift Custodians (Monday through Friday 10pm- 6:30am) in the Campus Support Services department to begin immediately. Position offers competitive starting hourly rate and generous benefits package, including employee and dependent tuition remission.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and is responsible for daily cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, hallways and office areas in campus facilities including residence halls, athletic areas, administrative and academic buildings. The Custodian will provide cleaning and sanitation services in addition to the use of light floor machines and attachments (e.g. vacuums, floor buffers, carpet extractors, etc.), perform general maintenance work (e.g. replace light bulbs, plunge toilets, etc.), assist with event set-ups and seasonal grounds maintenance as well as removal and transportation of garbage and recyclables from throughout campus.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid PA driver's license are required. The ideal candidate is required to have proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks, the ability to lift 40 lbs. and the ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web based applications) strongly preferred. Candidates must successfully pass a background check.
