Job summary

The State of West Virginia seeks a Lead Custodian to maintain cleanliness and order in the facility, oversee residents or others performing custodial duties, and manage inventories and supplies. You will ensure safety standards, train staff, and uphold sanitation plans, including MSDS documentation.

Responsibilities include supervising frontline staff, maintaining hygiene across bathrooms and living areas, and contributing to a safe, compliant workplace. State benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity.
• Coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead worker supervising residents or others assigned to perform custodial duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility; manage storage, ordering and distribution of supply inventories.
• Dusts chairs, tables and other furniture; washes windows, walls and woodwork; sweeps, vacuums, mops and disposes of trash.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and that MSDS books are up to date; provide proper training and guidance to residents and subordinate employees.
