UC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for a Lead Custodian. The full salary range for the Lead Custodian is $21.05 - $28.89 per hour. Salary offers are based on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
The Lead Custodian leads, guides, and performs a variety of custodial/housekeeping tasks to care, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning, dusting, stripping, waxing, sweeping, mopping, polishing, disinfecting, sanitizing, vacuuming, replenishing restrooms, and removing refuse/recycling throughout campus facilities, conference rooms, elevators, stairwells, exteriors, etc. Work may be done independently or as part of a team in assigned work areas.
The Lead Custodian oversees critical day‑to‑day operations in the supervisor’s absence, acts as a subject‑matter expert, and provides leadership to custodial/housekeeping staff who perform such tasks. He/she maintains a positive attitude and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty, and students.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. UCR is currently unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for staff.
