Job summary

Westosoisd seeks a Lead Custodian (AM) to supervise campus custodial operations, establish routine cleaning procedures, and ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of buildings and grounds. The role requires reading instructions and strong knowledge of maintenance and cleaning techniques.

Responsibilities include opening buildings, directing event setups, and reporting maintenance to the Director, with after-hours availability and potential irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.
• Three years of custodial services experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned campus and respond to emergencies on other campuses when needed.
• Open buildings when AM custodians are absent.
• Direct and assist in setting up facilities for special events.
• Perform inspections/walk-throughs to evaluate employee performance when requested by the PM Lead Custodian.
• Report all maintenance items directly to the Director.
• Respond to after-hour call outs as needed.
• Work irregular hours as needed.
• Monitor and direct work of AM custodians and report deficiencies to PM District Lead.

Primary Purpose:

Supervise all campus custodial operations. Establish and follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures

Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance

Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment

Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies

Three years of experience in custodial services

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Custodial Management

• 1 Maintain assigned campus and respond to emergencies on other campuses when needed.
• 2 Open buildings when AM custodians are absent.

• 8Ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity.
• 9 Maintain cleanliness of assigned campus.

Safety

• 10 Ass ume responsibility for opening building(s) each school day.
• 11 Check daily to ensure that all exit doors operate correctly.
• 12 Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
• 13 Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Monitor and direct work of AM custodians and report deficiencies to PM District Lead.

Equipment Used:

Buffer, vacuum, wet and dry vacuum cleaner. Ride on floor maintenance equipment.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and ladders. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials.
