Job summary

Central Park Conservancy seeks an Assistant Manager for Custodial Care to oversee day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of public bathrooms, visitor centers, and staff areas. You will lead a team, train staff in safety and service standards, and collaborate across Park operations.

You will work with multiple departments, schedule shifts seven days a week, and support park-wide events while maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards for visitors and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in maintenance work in executive housekeeping, facilities or custodial management including a minimum of 6 years in management/supervision.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding and training staff in customer service, safety, and cleaning standards.
• Supervise daily/weekly workloads and vehicle schedules for cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, staff areas, and visitor centers.
• Monitor waste management and ensure proper collection and transport of refuse and recycling.
• Perform regular facility inspections and assign maintenance tasks via a computer-based work order system.
• Provide feedback and support staff development; participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Collaborate with managers on hiring, performance reviews, and discipline; may act as manager in their absence.
