Job summary

Pana Community Hospital’s Imaging Department is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead CT Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Diagnostic Imaging Director with daily CT operations while providing clinical leadership, staff education, quality assurance, and technical support.

The Lead CT Technologist will help ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with applicable hospital, state, and federal requirements

Qualifications

• Current Radiologic Technologist licensure as required by the State of Illinois.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required.
• Advanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• 3-5 years CT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with HIS, RIS, and PACS.
• Previous lead, coordinator, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations safely and accurately according to approved protocols and department policies.
• Display leadership, mentoring CT staff and onboarding, competency validation.
• Assist with daily CT operations, scheduling and workflow.
• Develop, review and update CT protocols with radiologists.
• Monitor quality-control testing and radiation dose indicators.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient and departmental documentation.

Salary Range:$34.37 - $48.11 (Based on Experience)

Pana Community Hospital’s Imaging Department is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead CT Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Diagnostic Imaging Director with daily CT operations while providing clinical leadership, staff education, quality assurance, and technical support. The Lead CT Technologist will help ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with applicable hospital, state, and federal requirements all within a supportive and collaborative environment. Salary Range: $34.37 - $48.11 (Based on Experience)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform CT examinations safely and accurately according to approved protocols and department policies.
• Administer contrast media within scope of practice and established hospital policy and procedure.
• Display leadership skills, serving as a clinical resource and mentor to CT staff.
• Assist with onboarding, training and competency validation of staff including but not limited to CT procedures, equipment, safety, and protocols.
• Provide ongoing education and support to CT staff.
• Assist with daily CT operations, scheduling and workflow.
• Work with radiologists to develop, review, and update CT protocols.
• Enter and modify CT protocols as authorized.
• Monitor and support required CT quality-control testing and documentation as well as the hospital Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI)programs.
• Monitor image quality, repeat examinations, radiation dose, and other quality indicators as assigned.
• Maintain required Low-Dose CT (LDCT)records and patient notifications.
• Maintain competency in general radiology, including fluoroscopy, surgery, bone density, and other assigned duties.
• Safely transport, transfer, position, and assist patients using appropriate equipment and safe patient-handling practices.
• Follow radiation safety and ALARA practices.
• Follow hospital policy and procedure for infection prevention (PPE), patient safety, contrast safety, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient and departmental documentation.
• Report equipment problems, safety concerns, injuries, near misses, and adverse events according to hospital policy.
• Assist with CT policy review, updates and promote adherence to department policies, procedures and best practices.
• Assist with regulatory, accreditation, and survey readiness activities.
• Maintain required education, training, competency, and certification requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability and a positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice and organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Radiologic Technologist licensure as required by the State of Illinois.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R)required.
• Advanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT)required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• 3-5 years of CT experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS.
• Previous lead, coordinator, preceptor, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT /PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires prolonged standing, walking, and patient positioning throughout workday.
• Must be able to lift and assist patients and equipment up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and manual dexterity required.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and cleaning chemicals.
• Requires adherence to radiation safety practices and use of protective equipment
