Job Overview

The Lead CT Technologist is responsible for directing the activities of CT Technologists on the assigned shift, modeling appropriate behavior, and ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. The role supports patient care, workflow organization, professional development, and fosters a culture of diversity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practice excellence through assessment, care, evaluation and education of patients and families according to established policies.
  • Maintain and promote compliance with regulatory requirements, reimbursement standards, and related policies.
  • Provide leadership excellence in the clinical practice area and collaborate with technical staff to organize daily workflow and patient care.
  • Demonstrate commitment to learning excellence through professional development and clinical expertise.
  • Support the radiology profession through role modeling, fostering an environment of growth and learning.
  • Promote cultural excellence by recognizing and appreciating cultural, ethnic, and generational diversity.
  • Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education / Formal Training
  • Technical degree or diploma in Radiology.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Technologist – Computed Tomography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association
Experience

CT Technologist experience of 1‑3 years.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Technical knowledge to guide/lead others and carry out complex assignments.
  • Leadership skills and independent judgment for decision‑making and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of imaging equipment.
  • Effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS).
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
Supervision

Leads and guides CT Techs and trainees.

Physical Demands

Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion; may exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. Requires good balance and coordination, close visual acuity, color and depth perception. Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact, exposure to body fluids and hazardous materials, and ability to react quickly to emergencies.
