The CT Lead position is responsible for assisting the CT Manager with daily operations of the CT department. They will monitor CT staff, prioritize patient workload and provide guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Job Description

The lead CT technologist is expected to performhigh quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from pediatrics through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician. They should possess the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. We prefer someone who is self-driven, positive and encouraging, passionate about CT, and an effective communicator.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Credentials: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), as well as post-primary certification in Computed Tomography with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Licensed from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
ARRT, SCRQSA, current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider."

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. (Continuous) Ability to work rotating shifts. (Frequent) Ability to work overtime as required. (Frequent) Ability to work in a latex safe environment.
