Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a supervisor for the Critical Care Transport team. The role oversees daily operations, provides staff coaching, and supports CAMTS-aligned education initiatives.

You will collaborate with nursing, quality, and hospital departments, driving improvements in patient care and transport services while ensuring policy adherence and staff development.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or licensed as a Paramedic in Maryland.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active Certification in Transport Medicine and CAMTS-aligned education is implied by unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and is responsible for the assigned critical care transport team members, including performance appraisals, mentoring, and coaching.
• Provides input into continuing education, onboarding, and orientation programs per CAMTS standards.
• Provides supervision, training, and evaluation in line with policies and procedures.
• Interviews and recommends hiring of staff.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations and implements disciplinary actions as directed.
• Promotes professional development and ensures policy adherence.
• Acts as liaison with nursing, quality, and hospital departments; leads discussions on purchasing needs, quality results, and patient feedback.
• Addresses potential patient management problems in critical care transport and facilitates change to meet goals.
• Leads performance improvement projects and collaborates on long- and short-term planning.

Education

Maryland RN license or Maryland Paramedic license

Bachelor’s degree preferred
