Job summary

Kids for the Future in Elizabethtown, KY seeks a Lead Direct-Care Staff member for ACSU/CCSU to ensure high-quality residential crisis support, safety, and therapeutic structure on assigned shifts. You will supervise staff, coordinate with nursing and therapy teams, implement treatment plans, and mentor crisis staff while maintaining program standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 21 years of age or older.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health or related field.
• Advanced knowledge in crisis intervention and de-escalation preferred.
• Prior supervisory or shift-lead experience a plus.
• Must pass background checks and maintain required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Meets productivity standards as assigned.
• Assist nursing staff, therapists, and supervisors with protocol implementation.
• Provide a safe, structured environment and complete safety checks.
• Serve as primary direct-care leader on shift, ensuring care and safety.
• Provide oversight, guidance, and support to direct-care staff.
• Assist with crisis intervention and Safe Crisis Management techniques.
• Conduct psychoeducational and therapeutic groups as directed.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care.
• Provide orientation to newly admitted consumers.
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, documentation, and emergencies.
• Conduct phone screenings and assist with linkage to services.
• Assist with meals and daily living activities as needed.
• Support medication administration protocols as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintain training certifications including SCM, CPR/First Aid, OSHA, TB.
• Ensure safety during emergencies; transport if required.
• Complete documentation according to agency standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring of staff; cross-train for coverage.
• Cross-train to other residential programs including ACSU/CCSU.
• Assist with management of 988 crisis calls when needed.
• Monitor milieu adherence to standards and report concerns.
• Communicate updates to supervisors and interdisciplinary team.
