Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Pullman, WA seeks a Lead Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team on-site. The role focuses on credit-related accounting activities, customer credit analysis, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years experience in accounts receivable, credit management, treasury, banking, or general accounting.
• Strong skills in computerized accounting systems, Excel, Word and 10-key calculator.
• Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing customer credit applications, financial statements, and trade references, using various reporting tools.
• Establishing, reviewing, and adjusting customer credit limits based on financial strength, payment history, projected sales, and overall risk profile.
• Working with internal stakeholders to resolve payment disputes and minimize collection delays.
• Identifying, researching, and recommending solutions in complex or non-routine situations to supervisor as appropriate.
• Compiling and analyzing reports for internal and external users.
