Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Lead Accounting Specialist on the Credit Team in Pullman, WA. You will review credit applications, adjust limits, and work with stakeholders to resolve payment disputes, ensuring accurate reporting and risk mitigation.

The role requires 5+ years in accounts receivable or related fields, a one-year accounting certificate, and strong Excel/Word skills. On-site work with competitive benefits and ESOP ownership.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years experience in accounts receivable, credit management, treasury, banking, or general accounting.
• Strong skills in computerized accounting systems, Excel, Word and 10-key calculator.
• Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Associates degree in Accounting or related field is a plus.
• Experience in an accounting department of a manufacturing or technical sales environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing customer credit applications, financial statements, and trade references, using various reporting tools.

A typical day as a Lead Accounting Specialist on the Credit Team might include:

• Reviewing and analyzing customer credit applications, financial statements, and trade references, using various reporting tools.
• Establishing, reviewing, and adjusting customer credit limits based on financial strength, payment history, projected sales, and overall risk profile.
• Working with internal stakeholders to resolve payment disputes and minimize collection delays.

Pay Range Data: $ 34.42 - $50.91 an hour

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Lead Accounting Specialist level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
