Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks a Manager, Credentials Verification Office to lead a credentialing team across the health system, ensuring accurate, audit-ready files and regulatory compliance. You will oversee day-to-day credentialing operations and partner with stakeholders to support provider onboarding.

In this leadership role, you will drive quality, audit readiness and continuous improvement while mentoring staff and coordinating with Medical Staff Offices to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• NAMSS certification within one year of hire.
• 4+ years relevant experience including 2+ years in management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a credentialing team with coaching, performance management, training and professional development.
• Oversee credentialing workflows, assignments and priorities to ensure timely progress.
• Monitor workload, turnaround times, productivity, file quality and operational performance metrics.
• Ensure credentialing files are complete, audit-ready and prepared for release to Medical Staff Offices and other stakeholders.
• Support regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness and internal/external audits.
• Identify workflow challenges and drive process improvements for efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with Medical Staff Offices, provider onboarding teams and internal partners for provider readiness.
• Utilize CredentialStream or comparable platforms to optimize operations and reporting.
• Provide hands-on leadership during high-volume periods, audits and system changes.
