Job summary
Falconbridge Animal Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Lead Credentialed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled medical care under the direction of a veterinarian and to support hospital operations by leading the technical team. You will oversee nursing, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and dentistry, while partnering with leadership to optimize workflows and client communication.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- Current Credentialed Veterinary Technician license in good standing in the applicable state.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a licensed technician, with leadership or mentorship experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled medical care under DVM supervision while supporting hospital operations through oversight of the technical team.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to teammates; foster collaborative hospital culture.
- Act as a shift leader; provide real-time coaching, technical development, and onboarding support to technicians and assistants.
- Coordinate workflows with hospital leadership; implement protocols to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Clearly communicate treatment plans to clients; review medical records with pet owners.
