AdventHealth in Orlando seeks a Dispatcher to coordinate routine and STAT pickups, dispatch drivers, and monitor performance. You will educate staff, manage vehicle resources, and ensure compliance with privacy and safety rules in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes customer service, multitasking, and effective communication with diverse teams while safeguarding patient information and coordinating with the broader logistics network.

Job Description:

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm
• Location: 2501 N. Orange Ave, Suite 50, Orlando, 32804
• Coordinates routine and STAT lab and non-lab pickups and drop-offs using vehicle tracking and request dispatching software.
• Manages and monitors a team of drivers for punctuality, responsiveness, and efficiency.
• Conducts effective resource planning to maximize productivity and assigns vehicles, keys, and handheld devices as needed.
• Coordinates vehicle maintenance and addresses breakdowns promptly.
• Utilizes dispatch software to enter requests, dispatch drivers, and track their progress throughout shifts.
• Provides excellent customer service, handling demanding and difficult customers professionally.
• Educates customers on various shipping services and resolves customer service issues within guidelines.
• Adheres to AdventHealth Compliance Plan and regulatory authority rules, protecting patient information confidentiality.
• Safely transports biological specimens, medical supplies, equipment, and related paperwork according to schedule and department expectations.
• Maintains security and proper handling of transported items, including patient care records and pharmacy preparations.
• Assists with training and orientation of new employees and performs general office duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth department operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read text and numbers in English, ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match and problem solve. [Required]
• Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices. [Required]
• Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within guidelines and applicable regulations. [Required]
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner. [Required]
• Ability to respond appropriately to buzzers, bells, flashing lights, and pagers. [Required]
• Ability to interpret and communicate directions utilizing GPS mapping applications. [Required]
• Must be able to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment. [Required]
• Ability to deal with sometimes difficult and demanding customers. [Required]
• Knowledge of local and surrounding areas. [Required]
• Ability to manage a shift of multiple drivers especially when supervisors or managers are not around. [Required]
• Knowledge of the network of facilities and office. [Preferred]

Education:

High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Field of Study:

in a business-related field

Work Experience:

Previous Dispatcher experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
• Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack certification (FKLT) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$17.80 - $28.48
