Job summary

Ability Now Bay Area in Oakland seeks a Lead Counselor to provide leadership over participant services, develop ISPs, track progress, and ensure culturally responsive support. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating intake, and maintaining records to support quality outcomes.

The position requires fluency in English and preferred Spanish, with a focus on advocacy, community integration, and individualized service planning for participants and families.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities in a counseling capacity.
• Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor ISPs to ensure progress.
• Serve as liaison between participants, families, care providers, and agencies.
• Maintain confidential case records in compliance with policies and regs.
• Manage caseload and coordinate with Regional Center.
• Track objectives and outcomes for quality improvement.
• Prepare progress reports and professional correspondence.
• Provide counseling and conflict resolution support.
• Lead meetings and staff trainings; mentor counseling staff.
• Promote inclusive, person-centered services and language access.
