Job summary

La Familia is seeking a Certified Counselor to support the Latino Community in Oakland and surrounding counties. The role involves intake, assessments, individual/group/family counseling, and referrals, with documentation and collaboration across agencies.

Requires California CADC/CATC certification, bilingual Spanish/English preferred, and strong knowledge of recovery programs. The position offers full-time hours, a Saturday-Wednesday shift, and a union contract with annual increases.

Qualifications

• California CADC or CATC certification clearly listed after candidate name on CV.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Knowledge of alcohol and drug prevention and recovery/treatment programs.
• Knowledge of Latino community needs and non-profit experience preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial intake and assessments.
• Formulate treatment recovery plans for participants.
• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
• Provide referrals for education, training, and other services as needed.
• Maintain client files and program documentation timely.
• Collaborate with probation officers, law officials, and other agencies.
• Develop community resources for clients and families.
• Attend collaborative meetings and implement educational activities.
