Job summary

ARS Treatment Centers in Charlottesville, VA, seeks a Lead Counselor to assist the Regional Clinical Supervisor and Executive Director in delivering high‑quality clinical and administrative services to patients and families. The role involves managing caseloads, ensuring compliant documentation, and mentoring counselors.

A CSAC certification and state licensure are preferred, with substantial clinical experience in substance use treatment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or human services is required.
• CSAC certification is required; Masters preferred.
• Virginia licensure or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload per state regulations.
• Audit admission & discharge charts and support plans of care.
• Ensure timely completion of documentation including biopsychosocial assessments and pre-authorizations.
• Provide oversight of treatment team meeting minutes and related documentation.
• Support onboarding and supervision of counselors and trainees.
• Participate in weekly meetings and on-call rotation as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, or human services

CSAC Certification

Masters preferred

Virginia licensure or certification preferred
