Base pay range

$167,000.00/yr - $233,000.00/yr

Meta’s Employment Law group is seeking a Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment to provide advice and counsel to, and strategically manage employment law litigation for, client groups within Meta’s various business organizations. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment supporting one of the world’s most innovative tech organizations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide counseling and support to HR Business Partners, Employee Relations Business Partners, and the business on employee terminations, performance management, investigations, accommodations, compensation, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters.
  2. Collaborate with other attorneys on the team regarding advice and counseling provided to HR and other cross-functional partners.
  3. Coordinate and manage employment-related projects, including internal process reviews and program roll-outs and implementation.
  4. Draft and edit employment-related documents, correspondence, agreements, and processes.
  5. Manage legal risks and provide solutions for resolving employment disputes.
  6. Participate in creating and delivering trainings related to employment law, such as harassment training and manager trainings on various topics.
  7. Manage and drive strategy on pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent).
  2. 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including law firm, in-house, or government experience.
  3. 5+ years of experience in labor and employment law.
  4. Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status if required.
  5. Experience with state and federal employment law and advising clients on such laws.
  6. Employment litigation experience and experience managing large-scale projects.
  7. Strong business judgment and client counseling skills.
  8. Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. In-house legal department experience.
  2. Tech company experience.
  3. M&A diligence experience.
  4. Familiarity with California and New York employment law.
