Job Title: Lead Intellectual Property Counsel

Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3/4 days onsite

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel to join our legal team supporting the Advanced Purity Solutions division at our Billerica, MA site. This role is integral to fostering innovation and protecting the intellectual assets of multiple business units within the division. You will collaborate closely with technical and business teams to develop and execute IP strategies that align with our global objectives.

What You'll Do:

• Promote innovation by encouraging and guiding the submission of invention disclosures.
• Provide strategic counsel on patentability, freedom to operate, and other IP-related matters.
• Draft and/or manage the drafting of patent applications in collaboration with outside counsel.
• Oversee a global patent portfolio, including prosecution and docket management.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of IP-related agreements.
• Conduct competitive IP landscape analyses and portfolio evaluations.

What We Seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience managing a global patent portfolio.
• Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Strong background in drafting and negotiating IP agreements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a technical discipline.
• Experience in the semiconductor, chemical, or advanced materials industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IP strategy in a complex, fast-paced environment.

• Compensation: $122,500 - $155,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
