Job summary

Rippling, based in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Lead Counsel, HR Products to guide employment and wage-and-hour matters and to counsel product teams as Rippling launches EOR services globally.

You will partner with Product, Sales and Compliance, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, HR Products, building a world-class product counsel function at a rapidly growing company. This role offers competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of in-house or law firm experience.
• Strong California wage and hour expertise.
• Substantive knowledge of employment law.
• Law degree (JD or equivalent).
• Experience with PEOs or EORs preferred.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and solution-oriented ethos.
• Excellent drafting and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Sense of humor.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment counsel to EOR HR Advisor teams.
• Provide product counseling to Time and Payroll teams, focusing on wage and hour compliance.
• Analyze employment rules for hiring/offboarding via EOR across jurisdictions.
• Prepare employment agreements, termination notices, and policy documents for EOR.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, BD, Sales, and Client Services to build Rippling's product counseling function.
• Navigate regulatory frameworks US and internationally to create scalable solutions.
• Drive compliance culture and embed integrity in operations.
• Advise on Rippling's general legal needs as they arise.
