Job summary

Sony Pictures Entertainment seeks an experienced attorney to join its Business and Legal Affairs Department in Culver City, California, as Assistant General Counsel supporting Sony Pictures Television’s CP&S and Networks divisions.

This attorney will serve as a lead legal advisor to the business on product, advertising, technology, and distribution matters, shaping legal strategy for new initiatives across digital platforms and streaming services. Salary and incentives are described below.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Active California State Bar membership or eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California.
• Ten+ years of relevant experience at a major law firm, studio, network, streaming service or media/tech company.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead legal advisor to senior business leaders on product, ad tech, technology and platform initiatives.
• Lead structuring, drafting and negotiation of complex content, distribution, advertising and technology agreements.
• Provide product counseling throughout the lifecycle, foresee regulatory issues and craft practical solutions.
• Assess legal and business risk and deliver clear, business-oriented advice.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate cross-functional resolution of complex matters.
• Monitor developments in digital media law and translate into practical guidance for the business.
