Job summary

Capstone Recruitment UK, partnering with a leading international construction consultancy, seeks a Senior Cost Manager for a landmark data center development in Portsmouth, Ohio. You will lead commercial activity, manage significant packages and drive cost control on a high-profile project.

You will oversee cost planning, budgeting, procurement, and change management, while mentoring junior professionals and safeguarding client interests in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Background in construction consultancy, general contracting or major capital projects.
• Proven ability to independently manage large project packages.
• Strong knowledge of cost reporting, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience in data centers, mission critical, industrial or other technically complex projects is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial responsibility for significant packages on a major data center development.
• Leading cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Managing procurement, contractor valuations and change management.
• Reviewing and negotiating change orders and commercial claims.
• Identifying commercial risks and advising on cost mitigation strategies.
• Managing relationships with contractors, consultants and client stakeholders.
• Supporting and mentoring junior Cost Management professionals.
