Job summary

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking a Correctional Sergeant in Lassen County for a 12-month limited-term, full-time assignment. The role is the first supervisory level, responsible for maintaining order and discipline across housing units, dining halls, and work areas, and for training and evaluating officers in custodial procedures.

Work is in-office with standard corrections facility duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to supervise correctional officers and enforce facility rules.
• Experience training staff in custodial procedures and protective measures.
• Ability to maintain order and respond to incidents in a high-security environment.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate Correctional Officers in custodial procedures and practices.
• Ensure institution rules and regulations are enforced at all times.
• Maintain order and discipline throughout the facility (housing units, dining halls, work areas, exercise yards).
