Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Product Manager for the next‑generation in‑vehicle experience (IVX). You will lead platform direction for shared UI and work across vehicle programs to deliver cohesive hardware and software experiences.

The role reports to the Director of Product Management and collaborates with design, engineering, and vehicle teams. This hybrid role is based in Mountain View, CA or Warren, MI, requiring collaboration across programs and markets.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of product management experience leading large‑scale, complex software or connected products.
• End-to-end ownership from vision to launch.
• Experience across the full PM stack: vision, roadmap, requirements, prioritization, decision‑making, and delivery.
• Strong judgment in balancing near‑term execution with long‑term platform and product strategy.
• 4–6+ years working on platform‑level, multi‑surface products across displays, form factors, and interaction surfaces.
• Track record shipping multi‑surface or multi‑product experiences from concept through launch and post‑launch iteration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence executives and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform direction for GM’s in‑vehicle shared UI and system foundations.
• Define system UI capabilities, interaction patterns, and cross‑surface experiences across vehicle programs.
• Collaborate with platform PM, design, and engineering to ensure scalable, usable foundations.
• Ensure platform decisions balance standardization with intentional variation by vehicle/brand.
• Translate shared platform capabilities into cohesive customer experiences across screens and controls.
• Represent product decisions in leadership and design reviews and drive cross‑functional alignment.

Education

MBA or advanced technical degree
