Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a safety-focused Core Driller to join the Exploration Services team in Garner, North Carolina.

You will lead field drilling operations, transport and set up diamond core drilling rigs, collect geological samples, and mentor junior drillers while ensuring strict safety and regulatory compliance. You will travel extensively across the United States and oversee daily field activities, equipment maintenance, and data documentation in an outdoor, challenging

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Valid unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and DOT physical.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain and repair drilling equipment.
• Ability to lead crews and work independently or in teams.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work 10–12 hour shifts in demanding outdoor environments.
• Willingness to travel across the United States for multi-day field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
• Safely transport, mobilize, operate, and demobilize drilling equipment and support vehicles.
• Plan and execute drilling programs to meet objectives.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant Drillers in all drilling phases.
• Maintain drill logs, maintenance records, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with geologists and project managers to achieve project goals.
