Job summary

Martin Marietta seeks an Assistant Core Driller to support Core Driller in safe, efficient drilling operations across the United States, including surface and underground sites. You will gain hands-on training in drilling, sample collection, equipment maintenance, and field safety while developing leadership skills for progression to Core Driller.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to obtain Class A CDL.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and DOT physical.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn drilling equipment maintenance.
• Teamwork and ability to follow directions from Core Driller.
• Willingness to work 10–12 hour shifts in physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States for multi-day field assignments.
• Experience operating manual transmission vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and environmental stewardship.
• Assist with transportation, mobilization, operation, and demobilization of drilling equipment and support vehicles.
• Support daily drilling operations under the Core Driller.
• Assist with rig setup, drilling fluid management, rod handling, core retrieval, and site housekeeping.
• Collect and transport geological core samples and field data.
• Maintain field records and project documentation.
• Participate in pre-job inspections and safety trainings.
