Job summary

Responsibilities include planning and supervising food preparation, ensuring recipes and schedules are followed, training staff, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting cooks of higher rank as needed. Pre-employment immunizations are required.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of food and beverage preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen management.
• Skill in preparing meats, fish, vegetables, soups, salads, desserts in large quantities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the preparation and cooking of all food and beverages for meals daily for a facility serving fewer than 100 people.
• Estimate food needs in advance and requisition quantities to meet menus.
• Supervise receipt, storage, and distribution of food supplies.
• Prepare meals according to standard recipes and time schedules.
• Instruct and train subordinates in proper cooking techniques.
• Maintain a clean kitchen and storage areas free from pests.
• Assist a cook of higher rank when needed.
• Perform related duties as required.
